I am Ms. Gerolyn Woodruff, and I am honored to serve as your Principal. I bring over 20 years of experience in education, having started my career as a high school History instructor in Atlanta, Georgia, before relocating to Birmingham, Alabama. Over the years, I've had the privilege of teaching 7th and 8th grade students at Erwin High/Middle School for eight years, as well as coaching Junior Varsity Cheerleading and sponsoring the Student Government Association.  I’ve also served as an Assistant Principal within the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½app County School System, including Shades Valley High School, Rudd Middle School, and Pinson Valley High School over the course of nine years.

I am originally from Chicago, Illinois, and my journey in education has been both rewarding and diverse. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with an emphasis in History and Political Science from Alabama A&M University.  I also hold both my Master's and Ed.S degrees in Educational Leadership from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I’m an active and financial member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, serving as Assistant Recording Secretary and contributing to various committees within the Birmingham Alumnae Chapter. For the past seven years, I have been a leader within the Pinson community, and I am excited to continue working with our students, parents, and community stakeholders to ensure a victorious and enriching school year.
